Sign into your Amazon Alexa Account
Under the Skills menu search for home8
Click on Skill and click on enable
Clicking enable will take you to the Home8 sign in page. (Make sure popups are enabled) Enter phone number and password to sign in
Click allow access
Enter a 4 digit pin for disarming and unlocking doors to prevent unauthorized access. Home8 highly recommends not disabling this feature to prevent strangers from using the Alexa app to disarm or unlock the system.
Pat yourself on the back, open a cold bottle of beer and congratulate yourself for a job well done.
Launch Alexa App
Go to the menu and select skills
Search for home8 skill and select the skill
Click on Enable Skill
This will take you to the home8 login page. Enter your home8 login name and password.
Click on the allow access

2. Visit our IFTTT channel at https://ifttt.com/home8 and click “Connect.”

3. Enter your Home8 account login information and sign in.

4. Grant IFTTT permission to access your Home8 profile and devices by clicking on “Allow” to complete integration.

Congratulations you are now connected to Home8 on IFTTT. Access IFTTT on web browser or app. Now you can create applets using Home8 to work with devices on other connected channels.
1. Launch your IFTTT App and tap on “My Applets”
2. Click “+” next to My Applets, tap “+ this” to assign a trigger service.
3. Search for “location” Service.
4. Choose a trigger and specify the location.
5. Next, tap “ + that” to assign an action service and search for “home8”.
6. Log in your Home8 credentials to associate IFTTT with your Home8 account.
7. Choose the action “Press opener” and select your garage opener.
8. Press “Finish” to complete Applet setup.
You should now be able to use IFTTT to control your garage opener in your Home8 System. Every time you enter/exit the area with your phone, the garage opener will be automatically pressed.
1. Home8 offers Apple Watch App. When you download the Home8 app on your iPhone, the Apple Watch app will be installed on the watch as well.
Launch the Watch app on your iPhone after installing Home8 app. Scroll down and tap on Home8. Make sure “Show App on Apple Watch” is enabled.
2. Launch Home8 on Apple Watch. Tap on Home8 app on the watch. App will be launched and you will see the home page for Home8. There are 3 tiles on this page: Automation, Arm Mode and VideoGram.
3. Arm, disarm OPU/Shuttle on Apple Watch. On Home8 app, tap on the arm/disarm tile. If there is more than one OPU/Shuttle, tap on an OPU/Shuttle from the list. If there is only one OPU/Shuttle, the list page will not be shown and page will skip to select arm mode page (below).
Select to Arm, Disarm or Stay (Arm in stay mode) for the selected OPU/Shuttle. New arm status will be reflected on the home page.
4. Home automation on Apple Watch. On Home8 app, tap on the Automation. (If there is more than one OPU/Shuttle, tap on an OPU/Shuttle from the list.) Tap on the On/Off button to toggle On/Off a switch. New On/Off status will be reflected on the toggle button.
5. View events on Apple Watch. On Home8 app, tap on the VideoGram. (If there is more than one OPU/Shuttle, tap on an OPU/Shuttle from the list.) Tap on an event from the list to view detailed information of the selected event.
Honeywell Thermostat
1. Create a Honeywell account. Create an account at https://www.mytotalconnectcomfort.com/portal (browser) and follow the guided instructions to set up the thermostat. Or you may download the Honeywell Total Connect Comfort app and do the same. Have the account/password ready.
2. Link Honeywell thermostat to Home8 system.
On Home8 app, navigate to “Device Management -> OPU/Shuttle settings -> Manage Integration”.
On Manage Integration, tap on “>” on the Account row for HONEYWELL. Enter the Honeywell account and password to sign in.
Accept Honeywell agreement and select the thermostat. Honeywell account is now linked with Home8.
3. View thermostat on Home8. On Home page, tap on Temperature. Select a thermostat to view and control remotely from Home8.
Nest Thermostat
1. Create a Nest account. Create an account at https://home.nest.com (browser) and follow the guided instructions to set up the thermostat. Or you may download the Nest app and do the same. Have the account/password ready.
2. Link Nest thermostat to Home8 system.
On Home8 app, navigate to “Device Management -> OPU/Shuttle settings -> Manage Integration”.
On Manage Integration, tap on “>” on the Account row for NEST. Enter the Nest account and password to sign in.
Accept Nest agreement. Nest account is now linked with Home8.
3. View thermostat on Home8. On Home page, tap on Temperature. Select a thermostat to view and control remotely from Home8.
*Note: Only account owner will have viewing and control permission to the Nest thermostat on Home8. This is the restriction set forth by the Nest application.
Pairing with Philips Hue Light System
It’s suggested that all devices are paired with the Philips Hue system before integrating with the Home8 app. During the pairing process, all devices paired to the Philips Hue system will be transferred to the Home8 app.
Start by going to the Settings app.
Select Device Management.
Tap on the Home8 system you want to add the Philips Hue System.
Tap the Manage Integration.
Follow the instructions in the Home8 app. Click on the OK button to dismiss the instructions and begin the pairing process.
Press the button on the Hue Bridge during the pairing process.
Once device pairing is successful, you should see the below notification.



Add Z-Wave Dongle
This process only applies to Security Shuttle 3.0.
1. Insert the Z-Wave Dongle into the Security Shuttle 3.0.
2. Unplug the power of the Security Shuttle 3.0 and replug it back. There should now be the option to add “Z-Wave Sensor.”
Add Z-Wave Sensor
Adding Door Lock, Smart Plug, Dimmer, etc.:
1. Go to Sidebar Menu -> Device Management.
2. On Sensor tap on (add) button and tap “Z-Wave Sensor.” Then choose “Include” on the dialog box.
3. User will see the message: “Is the device a door lock?” Tap “Yes” to add a door lock. For sensors other than the door lock, tap “No.” Encryption will be used to add the door lock if tapped “Yes.”
4. Follow the instructions to plug in the device to power, press buttons, etc., according to the user manual.
5. Check the device’s status in “Device Management” after 10 minutes.
6. After few minutes, if device is added successfully, user will receive a success notification.
7. Device will be listed on Device Management list if added successfully.
Check “Device Management”:
1. Create a LockState Connect account. Create an account at https://connect.devicewebmanager.com/sign-in (browser) and follow the guided instructions to set up the door lock. Or you may download the LockState Connect app and do the same. Have the account/password ready.
2. Link LockState door lock to Home8 system.
On Home8 app, navigate to “Device Management -> OPU/Shuttle settings -> Manage Integration”.
On Manage Integration, tap on “>” on the Account row for LOCKSTATE. Enter the LockState Connect account and password to sign in.
Authorize access to Mivatek. LockState account is now linked with Home8.
3. Control door lock from Home8. On Home page, tap on Automation. Tap on the lock/unlock icon to remotely lock/unlock from Home8.A notification will be given and new status will be reflected.
4. Create a User Code. Navigate to “Device Management -> LockState Door Lock settings -> Edit Sensor -> User Code”.
On “User Code” page, tap on “+” to add a new code. Enter the required information on “Add User Code” page.
Tap on the checkmark to save the information. This user code can be used on the door lock for unlocking and this code will not expire.
5. Create a Guest Code. Navigate to “Device Management -> LockState Door Lock settings -> Edit Sensor -> Guest Code”.
On “Guest Code” page, tap on “+” to add a new guest code. Enter the required information on “Add Guest Code” page. Guest code requires a Start date and End date. The code will be valid for the specified dates.
Tap on the checkmark to save the information. This guest code can be used on the door lock for unlocking within the time period given. This code will expire on the End date.
6. View updated log. Navigate to “Device Management -> LockState Door Lock settings -> Edit Sensor -> Last Updated Log”.
This log will be updated periodically with the timestamp of actions on the door lock.
Video Backup with Dropbox
1. Create a Dropbox account. Create an account at https://www.dropbox.com. Or you may download the Dropbox app and do the same. Have the account/password ready.
2. Link Dropbox account to Home8 system.
On Home8 app, navigate to “Device Management -> OPU/Shuttle settings -> Manage Backup”.
On Manage Backup, tap on “>” on the Account row for DROPBOX. Enter the Dropbox account and password to sign in.
Allow Home8 to access the folders. Dropbox account is now linked with Home8.
3. Video backup to Dropbox. On “Manage Backup” page, tap on “>” on the Backup row. The default mode is Disabled. Select to backup all video recordings or event only video recordings. The newly selected mode will be reflected.
Connect Google Assistant/ Google Home to Home8
Connecting Google Assistant / Google Home to your Home8 system is simple and can be setup from your Google Assistant app.
*Make sure you download both the Google Assistant and Google Home apps.
**Make sure your Google Assistant/ Google Home App is fully set up and already logged into your Google account on your mobile device.
1. Open your Google Assistant App.
2. Say to your Google Assistant “OK, Google, talk to Home8” and tap the card, “Link Home8 to Google”.
or alternatively, you can find Home8 from EXPLORE section and tap either cards.
3. Log in your Home8 credentials to associate Google Assistant with your Home8 account.
Click on the allow access.
Enter a 4 digit pin for disarming and unlocking doors to prevent unauthorized access.
Launch Home8 App and tap Google Home to name your system.
